Travel & Tournament Rules

Bob Smith Soccer Academy Indoor Soccer Rules 

(Tournament Games):

• Length of One Day Tournament Games: All games are 25 minutes in length.
7V7 including a Goalkeeper
Ball over side lines will be a kick in played on the ground ONLY
Goal Kicks will not be played beyond the midfield Line
Defending team must remain outside the 18 yard box during goal kicks
During the course of play Goalkeepers may not throw or kick the ball across the midfield line
All Free kicks are indirect and players must maintain a distance of 4 yards from the ball
Substitutions may be made on the fly
No sliding tackles allowed
No offsides

Yellow cards will be given when necessary. Upon receipt of a yellow card, the player must leave the field of play for a minimum of 2 minutes while your team plays down a man for those 2 minutes .

When a Red Cards is  given , the team will play a man down for the rest of the game. The player is not allowed back in the game..

STANDINGS: The following point system will be used to break ties in the standings:

1. Win = 3 points
2. Tie = 1 point for each team
3. Loss = 0 points

• Tie Breakers:
2 teams - Head-to-Head, Goals against, yellow  and card accumulation
3 or more teams -  Goals Against, yellow and red card accumulation 

First Place tournament games resulting in a tie score will be determined by head-to-head results, goals against and   yellow and red card 
accumulation 

Penalty kicks will only be awarded in a breakaway situation where a player is taken down from behind. Penalty will be taken from a 8 yard distance

 

All Travel League Games

* Length of U8-U14  B&G Travel Youth League Games are 42 minutes in length
• Length of U18-U15 B&G Travel League Games: All games are 57 minutes in length.

Number of Players: U8-U14 is 7v7 including the goalkeeper, U15-U18 is 6v6 including the goalkeeper unless 7v7 is agreed upon only by both teams and Men’s games are 6v6 including the goalkeeper unless 7v7 is agreed upon only by both teams.

Kick-ins: When ball goes out of bounds over the touch lines, there will be kick-ins by placing the ball on the touchline where it last left the field of play. The kick-in MUST be played below the knees for ages U10B&G and up. There is a four (4) yard required distance from the ball being kicked in from the touch line.

Goal area: There is a regular outdoor field sized 18-yard box goal area lined out where the goalkeeper may handle the ball.

Goalkeepers & 18-yard box scenarios: GK’s may distribute the ball with their hands or feet but cannot punt or drop kick the ball. Keepers may not throw or play the ball beyond the midfield line with their hands or feet from inside the 18-yard box. If the keeper’s teammate passes the ball back with their feet, the keeper cannot use his or her hands to pick up the ball, he or she must then play with their feet but not beyond the midfield line. If a teammate plays back with any other part of their body (head, chest, and/or thigh), the keeper may then handle the ball. They can also only handle the ball off of shots and/or deflections. After handling the ball, keepers may choose to drop the ball and play it with their feet but not beyond the midfield line. The build out line will be the top of the 18-yard box. 

Goal kicks: When the ball leaves the field of play over the end lines, there will either be a corner kick or a goal kick. Goal kicks may not be played beyond the midfield line.

League &Tournament Code of Conduct:

Referees have full authority to enforce the Laws of the Game!

Yellow cards will be given for the following offenses:  Upon receipt of a yellow, the player must leave the field of play temporarily and may be replaced by another player.

Red Cards will be given for the accumulation of two yellows, Striking or attempting to strike an opponent in any way will also be a red card offense. Player leaves game immediately
